Antiquing is an "on the job" history class. Everytime you go to an auction, or to a yard sale, or into a thrift store, you are holding someone's past in your hands. Sometimes it is humbling, sometimes sad, sometimes exciting, but always, the thrill of the find is there.

Catawba Indian Artifact
This face pipe was in the basement of a client whose estate we are helping to liquidate and/or downsize. Lots of neat other items, but this one caught my attention. I knew just enough about Catawba pottery to know that's what it was. I've yet to find any comparibles to determine its value. The other two pieces are my own, which are fairly common.

I collect Catawba Indian Pottery and would offer you $75 for it. I feel that to be a fair price for it. Hard to tell who may have made it as the design is very popular among the Catawba Potters.
